The Cyprus Wine Museum In The Village Of Erimi In Cyprus

A UNIQUE MUSEUM

Limassol's Cyprus Wine Museum
The Cyprus Wine Museum Is Housed In A Restored Stone Building

Housed in a traditional stone building, the Cyprus Wine Museum can be found in the village of Erimi, within the Limassol district. The museum offers a unique opportunity to learn about the history of local wine production in Cyprus, showcasing up to 5,500 years of local winemaking history.

Audio-visual presentations take visitors through the various stages of wine production, whilst highlighting Cyprus as the home of some of Europe’s oldest winemaking traditions. It also illustrates and explores the social, economic, and symbolic evolution of the island’s wine production. The museum houses several archaeological finds, such as ancient jars and medieval drinking vessels that were once used to store and drink wine. Other exhibits feature old documents and ancient winemaking instruments that were used to produce wine throughout the ages.

The museum also features an outdoor courtyard that hosts several cultural events throughout the year. These include wine tasting events and a series of musical performances in collaboration with other organisations, such as TECHNOPOLIS20 and MUSIC IN THE MOUNTAINS.
