WHY WE LOVE CYPRUS

SEVERAL THINGS TO DO

Cyprus is generally considered family-friendly by most of its peers. The whole island offers a welcoming atmosphere, good weather, and plenty of activities that suit families with children of all ages.

Here are some things for consideration:

Accessibility: There are large stretches of sandy beaches, calm coves, and clear waters that are great for families and children to explore. All coastal towns and resorts are family-friendly and offer several options for families and children of all ages. All major attractions are designed to be accessible for families, and English is widely spoken across the island. In some cases, it is the primary language used. All signs, as a result, including road signs, are in English.

Safety: Cyprus is a safe place, and it currently boasts some of the lowest crime rates across Europe. As in any country, however, children should always be constantly monitored or supervised. This applies especially in crowded areas. With this in mind, all local guidelines detailing child safety should always be followed.

Outdoor Activities: There are SEVERAL THINGS TO DO WITH CHILDREN on different days of the week in Cyprus. These include plenty of activities that keep children of all ages constantly entertained. These often include WATERPARKS, animal parks, beaches, historical sights, places of leisure, CINEMAS, museums, and several nature trails.

Accommodation: A wide range of family-friendly resort hotels with dedicated kid’s clubs, child-friendly menus, and playgrounds are available across the island.

THINGS TO PLAN FOR WITH KIDS

Heat and Sun: The best time to visit the island with children is considered to be late spring or early autumn, when the weather is cooler. This means that Cyprus is very popular for a visit during the half-term school holidays. Summers can be very hot, and as a result, outdoor activities need to be carefully planned. Early morning or late afternoons are preferred for most activities during the summer, and it is important to have sun protection and stay hydrated throughout the day.

Beaches and Waterparks: The more popular sandy beaches, such as Nissi, Finikoudes, Mackenzie, Molos, Coral, and Fig Tree Bay usually have more facilities for children. This makes them generally more child-friendly than some of the secluded beaches, which includes the beach at APHRODITE’S ROCK that has pebbles and rocky areas. the popular sandy beaches generally also offer facilities like gentle entry, lifeguards, and specific shaded areas , as well as calm waters and a whole host of family-friendly facilities. The island also boasts three WATERPARKS. These can be found near Limassol, Paphos and Ayia Napa.

Historical Sights: A visit to a historical sight can usually be combined with several other activities. Paphos Archaeological Park, near the old Paphos harbour, is an excellent example of this, as is Larnaca’s Salt Lake, which can easily be combined with a visit to the HALA SULTAN TEKKE .

Nature: The Troodos Mountains offer cooler weather and several nature trails. SKIING throughout the winter is also available on its snow-capped peaks. A day can be spent traversing several animal attractions. These include the Camel Park, PAFOS ZOO, THE LIMASSOL PETTING ZOO, as well as several donkey farms that can be found dotted across the island.

Food: Cyprus cuisine is generally child-friendly. There are several options that cater to different tastes, and these include grilled meats, souvlaki, meze, and plenty of fresh fruit, ice cream, and yogurt. Most restaurants offer children’s menus, or child freindly options.
