Spend a day at a waterpark
Cyprus boasts three main waterparks that are open throughout summer to visitors of all ages. The west of the island is serviced by the Aphrodite Waterpark, which is situated near the city of Paphos. The Fasouri Waterpark maintains its presence in the south near Limassol, and Watermania can be found to the east of the island near Ayia Napa. All three are held in great esteem and each one offers their own unique experiences. They all have won numerous awards and accolades from all over the world and all three feature at the top of the ‘best waterpark in Europe’ list.

Spend a day visiting a castle
Cyprus has six stunning examples of buildings that were used as castles at some point. The coastline of Paphos harbour is dominated by the Paphos Castle, and the Kolossi Castle near Limassol was used as a base for the Knights Templar. Limassol Castle was the setting for King Richard the Lionheart’s Wedding, after he conquered the island on his way to the Third Crusade, and further east lie the towers of Alamina and Rigena. The Larnaca Fort can be found at the end of the city’s Finikoudes Promenade. As well as offering some great scenery for photos, some of these historic sites also house museums.

Spend a day at the cinema
Each city has a local cinema showing all of the latest movies.

Spend a day at a luna park
With several dotted all over the island, a visit to a luna park is a great way to spend an evening with children. Ranging in size, they also offer great value for money as they do not charge entrance fees, and patrons only pay for rides on an individual basis. Catering for all ages, this enjoyable evening activity will reintroduce some classic fair rides to all. Enhanced by neon lights, some of the larger parks feature several classic fair rides. These include small roller coasters, ferris wheels, and, of course, bumper cars. Other traditions are also followed, with some offering toffee apples, candy floss, or even classic carnival hot dogs.

Spend a day at the zoo
The Pafos Zoo, to the west, is the largest on the island, whilst Limassol in the south has a small city zoo. The Camel Park can be found to the east of Larnaca. The Pafos Zoo currently holds over 500 species of animals and offers children a giant playground and a children’s farm. The zoo also holds regular animal shows. The Limassol Zoo can be found within the Municipal Gardens by the seafront, so it can easily be combined with another activity. The Camel Park is more like a petting zoo but offers camel rides as well as various other children’s activities.

Spend a day on the beach
Cyprus has hundreds of kilometres of continuous coastline and nearly every part consists of several beaches. This means that most locations near the coast will be near a beach, making them not only easily accessible but also very popular on hot days. Most beaches offer sunbed hire, have snack bars or restaurants, and a selection of watersports.
