A BLUE FLAG BEACH
Fig Tree Bay is a famous, award-winning Blue Flag sandy beach located in the resort town of Protaras on the southeastern coast of Cyprus. Named after a solitary, but rare 17th-century fig tree, it is celebrated for its fine golden sand, crystal-clear shallow waters, and its small offshore islet. A municipal car park provides parking that is a short walk away from the beach, and although the use of sunbeds and umbrellas are charged, access, as with all beaches in Cyprus, is free to the public at the point of use. The beach stretches for at least 500 metres, and the waters are clean enough for the beach to have been awarded blue flag designation.

Amenities: Sun beds and umbrellas are available for daily hire. Public toilets and changing rooms are also available.
Health & Safety: Because of its shallow waters, Fig Tree Bay has become a popular destination for families with young children. Lifeguards and lifesaving equipment are available on the beach from 9 am to 6 pm from April through to October.
Offshore Islet: The uninhabited islet, which is covered with low-level vegetation, is easily reached by swimming or wading through the bay’s shallow waters.
Water Sports: Offers jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and water-skiing.
Walking: The beach connects to a scenic, flat, buggy-friendly boardwalk that stretches along the coast.
