MAJOR OCTOBER FESTIVALS
Cyprus hosts several cultural, musical, and seasonal festivals throughout October. These include traditional village and autumn harvest festivals that celebrate several local agricultural products, that include apples, olives, wine, and grape-derived delicacies.
LIMASSOL
Afamia Palouze Festival
The 44th Afamia Palouze Festival offers live preparation of the famous Cypriot grape jelly dessert, palouze. Creative workshops and activities for children. Wine tasting of local wine produced in nearby villages, also known as the krasohoria, music, and folklore dance.

International Short Film Festival
An annual celebration of short films featuring international works with Greek and English subtitles. T

Kyperounda Apple Festival

Paramali Ancient Olive Trees Festival

Stelios Pissis Music Festival in the Park
An outdoor, family-friendly event celebrating the legacy of composer Stelios Pissis with live music.

Pelendri Zivania Festival
Featuring live, on-site traditional cauldron demonstrations showing how the potent Cypriot grape spirit is crafted. Free sample tastings of a range of ZIVANIA products, along with traditional desserts, such as palouze, and a range of other grape-based local delicacies. Stalls featuring smoked meats such as hiromeri, lountza, and loukanika are also readily available. Traditional Cypriot folk music, dance programs, and cultural performances.

NICOSIA
Festival of Authentic Traditional Flavours
An outdoor, family-friendly event held in the village of Lagoudera, featuring several traditional Cypriot dishes, local sweets, and village hospitality.

17th International Pharos Contemporary Music Festival
The closing concert blends classical music, cabaret, and contemporary works.

Alona Zivania Festival
The village square comes alive with local folklore music and traditional dance groups performing throughout the day. Local market Stalls selling traditional products, local crafts, and bottles of ZIVANIA to take home also line the square. The traditional process of distilling the Cypriot spirit of choice using old copper cauldrons also takes place here. Free tastings of local ZIVANIA paired with authentic Cypriot treats like palouze, shoushouko, and rich smoked meats such as hiromeri, lountza, and traditional sausages, also known as Loukanika, are also available throughout the day. Local village landmarks are also kept open for visitors throughout the event, so there is an excellent opportunity to stroll through the village’s narrow, winding alleys to visit the 15th-century church of Panagia Kardakiotissa, the historic church of Agios Georgios, and the traditional village house and old water mill.

CyHerbia Halloween Festival
A large family-friendly Halloween festival featuring nature activities, maze games, pumpkin carving, and the ‘Night Terror Experience’ for older visitors.
