A LONG WALK FROM POTIMA BAY TO ST GEORGES HARBOUR
The Akamas municipality, in the Paphos district, continues its work on the longest coastal pedestrian walkway in Cyprus. The 14-kilometre seaside route runs from the Potima Marina area to the port of Agios Georgios in the Peyia region. Partly funded by the European Union, this project is now nearing completion, and the initial 2 km stretch of the first phase features an amphitheatre, an outdoor gym, basketball courts, a kiosk, and several children’s playgrounds.
PROJECT DETAILS
Length: The walkway, once complete, will stretch to approximately 14 kilometres.
Cost: €2.5 million.
Current Status: Partially open, with the initial 2-kilometre stretch inaugurated in 2024 and full completion targeted for 2026.
Features: Walking paths, outdoor gyms, children’s playgrounds, small amphitheatres, and sports courts.
