The Aphrodite Nature Trail In Akamas Pahos

A CIRCULAR TRAIL THAT FOLLOWS THE COASTLINE

Located in the protected area of the Akamas, within the Paphos district, the Aphrodite Nature Trail begins at the infamous Aphrodite Baths. The circular trail, which follows the coastline, then continues inland through woodland, offering several stunning vantage points. These include stunning views of Cape Arnoutis, the Polis Chrysochous Bay, the elevated point of Moutti tis Sotiras, and the Tower of Regiana.

A HIGH DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY

The 7.5-kilometre circular path offers a route with a high degree of difficulty. Typically taking between 3 to 4 hours to complete, the trail features some uneven, slippery, and often steep terrain that includes some notable steep elevated variations. A section also leads directly up approximately 375 metres to the hill that is known as Mouttis tis Sotira. This provides a grand viewpoint for some spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. This vantage point also offers a rare chance to explore one of the island’s untouched natural environments.

TWO NATURAL SPRINGS

The Tower of Rigaina is also located along the Aphrodite Nature Trail’s route. The tower is thought to have once been part of a medieval monastery and also offers drinking water that comes by the way of a natural spring. The 500-year-old oak tree just by the tower’s ruins also creates much interest. Another spring along the route that offers drinking water is located between Loutra and Kakoskali. The Loutra to Pyrgos Rigaina section of the trail is shared with the neighbouring Adonis Nature Trail.
