PARK-&-RIDE FACITIES TO BE INSTALLED AT THE VILLAGES OF ARADIPPOU & KALO CHORIO
The Cyprus Department of Public Works has awarded a €4.3 million contract for the development of two park-and-ride facilities in the Larnaca district. The project, funded by the European Union, is set to be completed within the coming year and it will include the construction of several facilities in the villages of Aradippou and Kalo Chorio. Both villages will receive several road upgrades and the introductions of much needed new roundabouts. The project is also going to fund new sheltered bus stops and provide extra parking facilities.
ENHANCING SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY
The project is part of efforts to enhance sustainable urban mobility in the region and will help to modernise transport systems for both villages. Cyprus has benefitted in the past from several infrastructure projects that have been funded by the EU and this latest initiative is part of an ongoing partnership that will see several further projects of this nature be implented witjin the near future.
