Construction has begun on a new multipurpose recreational park for Ayia Napa set to cost just over €4 million. The new space aims to revitalise the urban area and provide a safe recreational space for locals as well as visitors to the resort town. The transformation of the neglected area, near the town centre, should be completed in 16 months. The new facility is being co-funded by the European Union through the THALIA 2021-2027 Cohesion Policy Programme.
ENHANCING LIFE QUALITY
It is believed the park will enhance the quality of life for both residents and wider visitors, and planned features will include a 1,000-square-metre children’s playground, picnic areas, an artificial lake, some diverse green spaces, and decorative mosaics.
