The Magnificent Seven Christmas Villages In Cyprus

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN CHRISTMAS VILLAGES OF CYPRUS

Every year, the Ministry of Tourism sponsors a series of Christmas events that manifest in the form of seven Christmas villages located at different parts of the island. The Christmas Village program for this year has just been announced, and it will continue to operate into the new year.  All of the Christmas villages will have food and local music and there will be ample opportunities to buy festive Christmas presents. Santa will also be visiting all of the villages, embracing children of all ages.

The Christmas villages this year are

The village of Agros within the district of Limassol

The village of Kiti within the district of Larnaca

The village of Deryneia within the district of Famagusta 

The village of Fikardou iwithin the district of Nicosia

The village of Kalopanagiotis within the district of Nicosia 

The village of Kyperounta within the district of Limassol 

The village of Lefkara within the district of Larnaca 

AGROS
CHRISTMAS
VILLAGE

The village of roses welcomes visitors to its annual Christmas event which includes all of the usual holiday fanfare and offers a variety of activities and attractions for both children and adults. This event will start at 5.00pm on the first day, and then 11.00am on all of the other days. A variety of Christmas crafts that will include gifts, decorations, candles, local jewellery, handicrafts and art will be available at the Christmas market. Delicious food and drinks will also be readily available to compliment the festive fun and visitors will be able to embrace the true spirit of Christmas. There will also be an opportunity for visitors to participate in local workshops that is part of the village’s agro-tourism program. There will also be a number of local music and dance performances and regular vists from Santa Claus and his elves.

KITI
CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

The village of Kiti welcomes visitors to its annual Christmas event which includes all of the usual holiday fanfare and offers a variety of activities and attractions for both children and adults. This event will start at 5.00pm on the first day, and then 11.00am on all of the other days and a variety of Christmas crafts which will include gifts, decorations, candles, local jewellery, handicrafts and art will be available at the villages Christmas market. Delicious food and drinks will also be readily available to compliment the festive fun and there will also be a number of local music and dance performances, as well as a visit from Santa Claus.

KALOPANAYIOTIS CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

This Christmas event includes all of the usual holiday fanfare and offers a variety of activities and attractions for everyone. This is one of the longest-running Christmas events on the island and will offer visitors a selection of traditional stalls offering Cypriot flavours of Christmas, tasty foods, lovely sweets, handicrafts, and local delicacies, which will line the decorated square. Each day has a different start time and different activities and these festivities will include experiential workshops, various games, Christmas crafts, music and dance, tombola, zumba, yoga, climbing, road race for children and adults, cycling, tree planting, and much more.

FIKARDOU CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

This Christmas event includes all of the usual holiday fanfare and festive fun and is one of the longest running on the island. The narrow alley ways of this village will be lit up with Christmas lights and decoration and the festivities this year will also be held on Christmas and New Years day and will begin at 3.00pm on weekdays and 11.00am on weekends and on the holidays. There will be a variety of activities and attractions for children, music, Christmas workshops, Theatrical performances, Christmas crafts, choirs, and much more and of course, delicious food and drinks will also be readily available.

LEFKARA
CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

The village of lace and silver welcomes visitors to its annual Christmas event which includes all of the usual holiday fanfare and offers a variety of activities and attractions for both children and adults. This event will start at 5.00pm on the first day, and then 11.00am on all of the other days and a variety of Christmas crafts which will include gifts, decorations, candles, local jewellery, handicrafts and art will be available at the villages Christmas market. Delicious food and drinks will also be readily available to compliment the festive fun and there will be an opportunity to participate in local workshops that produce the finest embroidered lace and silver products. There will also be a number of local music and dance performances, as well as a visit from Santa Claus.

DERYNIEA
CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

The village of strawberries welcomes visitors to its annual Christmas event which includes all of the usual holiday fanfare and offers a variety of activities and attractions for both children and adults. This event will start at 5.00pm on the first day, and then 11.00am on all of the other days and a variety of Christmas crafts which will include gifts, decorations, candles, local jewellery, handicrafts and art will be available at the villages Christmas market. Delicious food and drinks will also be readily available to compliment the festive fun and visitors will have the opportunity to visit arts and crafts workshops by local artisans. There will also be a number of local music and dance performances, as well as a visit from Santa Claus.

KYPEROUNTA
CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

This fair celebrates Christmas in the mountains and includes all of the usual festive fun. Held in the main square, the fair starts at 6.30pm on weekdays and 2.00pm on weekends and holidays and offers a variety of activities and attractions for children, as well as the usual holiday fanfare. The centre piece of the fair is the Christmas market, selling unique festive items and handmade crafts and gifts made by local artisans. There will also be a visit from Santa Claus, raffles, games and local community performances which all form part of the entertainment program. Delicious food and drinks will also be readily available and all of this will be set against the back drop of this beautiful mountain village.
